Just now WBBM Radio Chicago reported that comedian Bernie Mac has passed away from pneumonia.
I believe he was 50
Keith Olbermann is older today.

Well I could be wrong because I really don’t trust anything I get on the tubes. But today is Keith Olbermann’s Birthday. So let’s all sing a round of happy birthday to the only real journalist, and the scepter bearer of Edward R. Murrow.

God what is the Democratic party coming to. I was listening to the radio just now, meet the press I think, and Ted Kennedy would not even come out unequivocally in support of Feingold's Censure resolution.
Village People or Reno 911? With immigration poll?
Fri Feb 03, 2006 at 06:18:33 AM PDT
This is a repost of something I did earlier that I think got lost in the SOTU fallout.
In the Chicago market the border patrol is running recruitment ads. Have you seen them?
At the end there is a group shot. Do the people look more like the `Village People" or the cast from `Reno 911"
That poll question taken care of; this diary is my quest to get information and discuss the issue of immigration since it was brought up in the SOTU and looks like it will be one of the GOP's fear mongering hot button social issue for the 06 election.

So Kos did we win...

When the discussion on filibuster came up in the Roberts nomination and the gang of 14 made the compromise to not filibuster except under extreme conditions you crowed how this was a major victory for Harry Reid and the Democratic Party and showed Frist to be a powerless leader. At the same time you pooh-poohed the people who disagreed with you when they said that we lost the momentum in the public opinion about Republicans abusing their confirmation powers and that the filibuster is useless unless used.
It's a muscle not ammunition:

This is a short diary with not much of a point. That is why I am putting it up late so as not to push off more important stuff.
I just wish the Democrats in congress would realize that fighting for what is right is not like ammunition which you use up and may not get replenished but more like a muscle that gets stronger each time you use it.
Chapter 28: Or whom do we get to do it to us?

This is a bit of a flippant diary but I hope it generates some good conversation about who we choose to lead us and their motivations.
