This is my first diary. I have grown dismayed by the vitriol and rhetoric of the Clinton campaign, as I am sure others have. Before the past month or so, I felt fairly excited as a liberal Democrat, with the knowledge that our choices of candidates was far better than in past election years [2004?]. Further, lets be honest, W has lowered the bar considerably. At the time, I could get equally excited about a Clinton, Edwards or Obama presidency. Competence wasn't really an issue, as it has been for the past 8 years.
